My Metabolic Blog

I recently began a fantastic program to get rid of this extra weight with Metabolic Research Center in Tyler. As part of my program, I am talking about it on the air and am blogging about it. Talk about being held accountable. I want others to share with me how their experience is going with Metabolic or ask questions if they are considering getting healthy again by shedding those unwelcome pounds. My blog is http://healthyrodd.blogspot.com/.

You can call my friend Pam at Metabolic Research Center in Tyler at 903-593-8181. Tell her that Rodd sent you. :-)

Austin, Texas

I attended a wonderful training in Austin this week.
I stayed at the Omni Hotel in downtown Austin. If you are looking for a four star hotel in Austin, this is the one. Everything was perfect. The people are fantastic and the hotel is very elegant. I HIGHLY recommend it. http://www.omnihotels.com/

I took a walk down Congress Ave and got a haircut from Javier at Belvederes Barber Lounge at 920 Congress Ave. If you are facing the capitol, it is on your left just before you hit East 11th.Javier is my age, so we had a great time gabbing about the 80's and getting old. Not only is he a neat guy, but he gave me one of the best haircuts ever. If you need a trim, go see him. http://www.belvederesaustin.com/

By the way Javier, if you read this, I DID keep my cap off the rest of the trip to show off my great cut.

I then made it to the State Capitol building. What an awesome and majestic building.
I did not want to disrupt my state representative since the House and Senate were in legislation at the time. To my surprise, Chuck Hopson told me to come on down and he gave me a tour of the capitol building. He is a terrific gentleman and one heck of a state representative.
I am very proud of him.

Fortunatley his wife Billie was there and I was able to see her as well. We all had a chance to visit. I know them from when I lived in Jacksonville, Texas and they are two of the finest folks you could ever meet. www.house.state.tx.us/members/dist11/bio/hopson.htm

By the way, the Jacksonville Tomato Fest is coming up soon. www.jacksonvilletexas.com/09TomatoFest.htm Hope to see ya there.

I took a shot of the Capitol building with the exterior lights on for Jake. I hope you like it.

Here is a house that I painted for my boss Mitzie to show at speaking engagements where we recruit volunteers and donors and bring awareness to PATH's mission. The house represents PATH Community Homes which is a PATH program in which we assist low income families with housing.

Here is a view of my office building from Front street. We make a lot of great things happpen here.

Holidays

Life has been busy in my world. My one year tour ended at Camp Tyler and I took the reigns as Director of Volunteer Services at PATH. http://www.tylerpath.org/

I spent Christmas at my Mom and Dad's in Rowlett. We had plenty to eat and I got a Hamilton Beach Stay or Go like I wanted.

It is like a croc pot. There are black eyed peas in there.

My bff Lauren came round on New Years day and we sipped on Mimosas and ate black eyed peas. We watched Horton Hears a Who. It was cute.
Patti popped round the cottage for a cuppa tea.

Looks like Tyler was also lookin for a cuppa Typhoo.

I do make a good cuppa tea. I DO love my lovely Russian tea set given to me by my dear pal Suzan. She has such good taste. She's the one with the sauna and room for a pony.
